많은 것을 바라지 않더라도,
늘 부족한 사람이 있다.
큰 욕심은 없다고 말하더라도,
늘 집착하는 사람이 있다.
뜨거운 샤워물로 몸을 헹군뒤,
미리 냉동실에 넣어둔 맥주를 꺼내 마시며
소소한 행복을 논하던 사람도
다음날의 기상을 아쉬워 하며
곧 느낄 박탈감에 앞서 진작에 한숨을 내쉰다.
그래서.
차라리 얻지 못할 것에 기대하지 않고
적은 확율에 굳이 나서지 않는
비극적 태도를 취하고 만다.
얻는 것과 잃는 것의 이해를 따지기도 전에
하지않음으로 얻게될 평안을 자연스레 선택한다.
그리고,
그것이 매우 현실적이며 보수적인.
지극한 나이든 어른이 해야만 하는
성숙한 선택이라 자신을 위안한다.
